HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – February 21, 2007 – Analytical Services, Inc. (ASI) today announced that ASI employee Bobby Barden will be honored by the Alabama Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities. Barden, an ASI employee and combat wounded Army Veteran was named Alabama Employee of the Year. As part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Barden will be recognized by Alabama Governor Bob Riley at the annual awards ceremony and reception at the state capitol in Montgomery, Alabama.
The Employee of the Year Award is presented to an employee with a disability who demonstrates courage, motivation, and outstanding performance required in overcoming obstacles, both on and off the job and in daily living.
Bobby Barden, a retired U.S. Army staff sergeant, was critically wounded from mortar fire during his service in Operation Iraqi Freedom in April 2004. Bobby, suffering from severe brain trauma, was projected by his doctors to never walk again and to face a lifetime battle to regain his speech and memory. He has proved the doctors wrong.
Since that time, Bobby has transitioned his life from warfighter to supporting our warfighters, as a civilian contractor supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) at Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama as well as being an active father and husband.
Irma L. Tuder, ASI’s founder and CEO stated, “ASI’s success relies heavily on the commitment of its employees and we are extremely proud of Bobby’s accomplishments. Both ASI and our customers are very fortunate to have Bobby as part of our team.”
