Analytical Services, Inc. Receives Alabama Employer of Veterans Award

HUNTSVILLE, AL – Analytical Services, Inc. (ASI) was selected by the American Legion Department of Alabama to receive the Employer of Veterans award. This award recognizes ASI for outstanding records in the hiring and retention of veterans. ASI employs veterans across the U.S., including the company’s Huntsville and Prattville locations.  ASI employs a workforce of about 380 employees across the U.S. In 2008, 31 percent of employees hired by ASI were veterans and 28 percent comprise ASI’s total workforce.
           
Nominated by Roger Rowe, Commander from American Legion Post No. 7, ASI provides funding and resources for various veteran initiatives including recruitment, community based events, internal activities, and awareness initiatives in support of veteran programs and activities.

Commander Rowe stated, “Once I learned of the award, ASI immediately came to mind as an excellent candidate. ASI has a reputation as an excellent employer, providing great benefits and opportunities. Most importantly, I knew that ASI employed a large number of veterans.  I am delighted that ASI won the award.”

As the state winner, ASI is also eligible for the National Employer of Veterans award to be presented at the American Legion’s National Convention. Eligibility for this award is determined by the following criteria: at least 10 percent of the nominee’s work force must be veterans; the nominee must have been in business for at least five years; the nominee cannot restrict employment to veterans only; and the nominee must be a private sector employer. Selection of the Employer of Veterans awards is made by the National Economic Commission Award Subcommittee.
